On the 17 May, 2007 just 1 day after the closing ceremony of the second SEAWUN Convention the Vietnamese delegation, containing around 50 people in charge of key positions in the water and waste water sector in Vietnam, visited the New Water Plant in Singapore

Invited by the PUB Singapore, represented by Mr. Chon Hou Chun, Director of the Water Supply Network and Mr. Tan Ban Thong, Manager of Water Hub, the participants enjoyed the very interesting presentation and site visit of the New Water Plant of this leading edge technology as part of the four tap strategy of PUB in Singapore and the approach of Water Hub to become a centre of excellence for the water sector. Also very interesting for the Vietnamese delegation was that New Water is the first PPP- project in Singapore as PPP has become a hot topic in Vietnam.
 
Beside of the site visit of the New Water Plant PUB exhibited to the Vietnamese visitors leak detection equipment like leak noise localizer, a geophone, a leak noise correlator and water meters of various sizes.
 
On behalf of the participants, SEAWUN thanked PUB for their hospitality and the highly appreciated introduction to the New Water plant and the four taps philosophy of water management in Singapore.
Following this visit, on 26 June, 2007, PUB delegated Mr. Bernard Koh, General Manager of Singapore Utilities International Pte Ltd and Ms. Bee Cheng Teo, Manager, Industry Development to pay a visit to Vietnam. Mr. Vu Kim Quyen- VWSA Standing Committee, SEAWUN Executive Director, Mr. Do Trong Dat - Director of Hai Phong Sewerage and Drainage Company and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dat, Director of Nam Dinh Water Supply Company had a meeting with them on training and twinning program of SEAWUN.
